20 Jun Things Your Guests will Remember
Weddings are beautiful celebrations of love that you shared with your friends and families. You spend months and thousands of dollars to make sure each aspect of that day is perfect. And not just perfect for you but also perfect for your guests. Even though you have painstaking planned for each minute detail, it is hard to determine which things your guests actually remember. Are they going to notice that some flower arrangements have just a touch of glitter on the petals that was hand painted, or could you forgo that luxury for another item you wanted? We compiled a list of the top five things your guests are likely to remember.
The length of the Ceremony
The purpose of your wedding is of course, to get married. But if that were the only reason, then everyone would just head to the courthouse. You also want your loved ones to be able to witness this moment and celebrate it with you. That being said, no one wants to sit through an hour long ceremony. Your ceremony should ideally be between 20-30 minutes, anything over that and you will start to lose the attention of your guests
The small comforts
How comfortable are the seats? Does the bathroom have extra toiletries like make-up wipes, hairspray, or deodorant (for your marathon dance guests)? What about the bathroom, how close is it? If your wedding is outside, what about fans or blankets (depending on the time year)? These are all things you want to think about. The small comforts are what can really set your wedding apart. If your guests are going to be sitting in a wooded area, they are going to remember that you provided bug spray for their comfort. A little gesture can go a long way!
The atmosphere
The overall atmosphere of your ceremony and reception is likely what your guests will remember instead of the individual aspects. But those individual aspects are collectively what create the atmosphere. Make sure your decorations, lighting, and music all flow together harmoniously. If the music is too loud, or the lighting too dim, or the flowers take over the entire table that can all ruin your atmosphere.
The Food
Your guests are more likely to remember your food if it is exceptionally good or exceptionally bad, so aim for the former. If your food falls in the middle, that’s ok too! Try to avoid anything needing heavy duty utensils or anything extra messy.
Personal Touches
Finally, your guests will remember what reminded them most of you at your wedding. Did you include your pets? Or write your own vows with all your pizazz and personality? Did you include some of your favorite games at the reception? Whichever way you and your significant other choose to leave your personal mark on your wedding, your guests will remember that you let your personalities shine through.
